I discovered flamenco when I was 18 in my hometown of Vancouver, Canada after witnessing the powerful women of flamenco who embodied restraint and reckless abandonment simultaneously. Since then I have studied flamenco extensively throughout North America and Spain with artists such as Concha Jareno, Jesus Carmona, Pastora Galvan, and Gema Moneo and have performed with the National Institute of Flamenco in Albuquerque, Al Mozaico Flamenco in Vancouver, and Pena Flamenco in Seattle.

In 2018 I produced my first flamenco show, Caras de Flamenco, a show that included both a live flamenco performance and a photography gallery show featuring work by Matt Villanueva that I art directed. Caras de Flamenco was born from the idea that flamenco welcomes women and men from all walks of life and doesn’t require you to be a certain age, gender, race, or body type in order to partake. I gathered local artists that embody this philosophy to showcase their arte in Caras de Flamenco through dance and visual arts. The show sold out and received a standing ovation.
